We Have This Moment Today ....

One must recognise that this has to be a multi-prong battle. It is too big, too important to rest on the shoulders of a few.

To then lay out the pieces on the board -

The Electoral Aspect.
A political party must fight electorally and do what it has to do, to remain politically relevant. Without that, not much can be achieved. No matter the complaints and disappointments it is under this umbrella alone one stands a chance. For those who tell you it is not so, you only have to think back seven years.

Use The System.
Take on the civilisational aspect using the Constitution, Judiciary and various pillars of the democratic edifice, thus taking the fight to the establishment's door.

The Cultural Aspect.
Use art, books, films, talks, history, to inform, educate and wake up people unaccustomed to rally together and participate.

The Wave.
To beat drums, encourage and castigate in equal measure is an important aspect of any movement. The power of a wave created by the positive sentiment of supporters can only be underestimated at our peril.

Occasionally, supporters of all sides will have issues with each other.
Not doing enough, taking too much credit...
Don’t fall for old traps. Blobs of darkness will stand out and in this march find no place.

Patronage And Funding.
Aggressive sponsors, patrons help amplify the message and narrative. In any Renaissance, the wealthy embrace patronage. Not only to promote their own interests but to be fair, their genuine beliefs in culture, tradition and thought. Our philanthropists must be encouraged to give closer home rather than in far off universities and conferences or inducements to merely shut up local critics.

So bring in the infantry, artillery, cavalry and the support services. This battle needs one and all. Its impact will resound for generations to come.

Of course, one can always choose to stand at the periphery with all bets hedged and in the safest position….

Hmmph! Not Hindu enough!

Hmmph! Where were they prior to 2014?

Hmmph! Only a star on YouTube!

Hmmph! Where’s that 56” chest?

Hmmph! Hmmph and Hmmph!

The worst of this category are those who have built nothing to their own credit but are quick to pull down institutions with a history of uncoloured, even-handed service.

So it must be said here and right now that if you are looking for a tiara or a medal you’ve walked into the wrong room. In this one, we will all win or sink together ! So let’s get that out of the way.

Be warned, as in any long drawn affair spanning decades -
of clashing egos, of being trampled or cast aside, of treacherous knives or those who quietly slink away.

Don’t waste time on them. Move on.

This is an existential battle that we have come late to.
Not only is it to be fought within the country as old prejudices and odds are stacked against us but as we have recently seen, also beyond our borders and seas - with those who thought they had the world all sorted between two faiths, and us neatly labelled but ignored and forgotten.

Our billion strong voice, our awakening, has exposed fangs and bigotry of the supposedly “morally superior” who not too long ago proudly proselytized by sword and now through incentives ostensibly gentler but equally vicious.

Two faiths who competed with each other throughout history in invading, plundering, enslaving the globe, when they were not killing their own, are now threatened by the Eternal Way, Sanatam Dharma or any other name they are scrambling to give it in panic.

About Time.

Show up. Stand up. Be Counted.

  1. Beautifully summed up. We have to create our own ecosystem. It is this ecosystem of so called liberals attracts/compels our own to fall in line...to earn a living...to get to high positions...n then make more of this type. This ecosystem needs to be challenged, by our own system so that no one goes out of fold at the first place.

  3. Brilliant as always, Nandini Ma'am posts are rich with language eloquence , incisive with facts and figures and hits a raw nerve.

If the followers of Sanatana Dharma do not stand up with her and the country now, it will be never again, as the proselytizing ones are moving so fast , eg bengal, our existence as proud followers of the Eternal Dharma will perish. In this context, please read the last paragraph of the brilliant and powerful, patriotic speech by the Maharishi Sri Aurobindo on 30th May 1909 after his release from Alipore jail, popularly known as Uttarpara Speech.

"...I say no longer that nationalism is a creed, a religion, a faith; I say that it is the Sanatana Dharma which for us is nationalism. This Hindu nation was born with the Sanatana Dharma, with it it moves and with it it grows. When the Sanatana Dharma declines, then the nation declines, and if the Sanatana Dharma were capable of perishing, with the Sanatana Dharma it would perish. The Sanatana Dharma, that is nationalism. This is the message that I have to speak to you."

Though the whole speech is a pious lesson on nationalism and THE SANATANA DHARMA, the concluding lines evoke goosebumps to a Sanatani and patriotic Indian.

    Thanks

  4. Biggest irony on earth, the Dharma based on conscience and science is forced to stir conscience for survival because people have given into petty selfishness and materialism the very anti-thesis to Dharma. Mind you the pincers are closer than they might appear as in rear view mirror. There may not be another opportunity.

  5. Brilliant. This Renaissance will become part of history which will tell how the two political religions of the world were defeated and put in their place by the age-old and ageless humanitarian Dharma.

  10. We often get confused as how to do something that matters. Nandini nails it so well. Do whatever you can and keep stepping up the game. Keep pushing forward.

  11. 'either we will all win or all will sink...'
Renaissance to society borns out of restructuring old practices in the School of Ramakrishna way not through destruction of them by schools of Marxism, Abrahamism or qualified colonialism.

  13. This is the most important issue to be tackled by us. Time is running out. While individuals have to stand up and be counted but Hindus by nature are law abiding and believe in Sanatan Dharma a lot will have to be done by hard decisions at Government, rather constitutional level. Judiciary is also hell bent on giving loose ropes to the anti national elements in the name of Freedom of Expression and rights to demonstrate etc.

  14. Wow, I am Spellbound! Moving forward,I agree that time is running. The common masses are ready for the renaissance. Now, its the turn of Wealthy dharmic individuals or groups to step up and do what Rothschild and other handful jews did for Israel. Uptil now this movement is dominated by Upper and Lower middle class intellegensia with significant reach in poor rural and urban masses. Its time to propel this movement. It is indeed an existential theat. Instead of relying on any government we should form our own groups and NGO's to act as a pressure groups and then forcing government to respect our heritage and culture. We need to be more proactive and vocal. We should force the government to change the curiculam of this country which spew venom against majority, which is designed to divide hindus and consequently convert them. We should be unapologetic as a Hindus. Lastly, Its heartening to see the awakening of masses.

  15. So true...wealthy must invest in Indian culture and academic rather than pumping it in land far away.. Actually, we Indians are still swayed by IVY league stuff.. a person with that tag will be heard with all attention and one from our own institution will be looked down.. This needs to change.
    Beautifully written piece.

  16. Equal Education policy needed for India:
If English medium education is better in India then why not translate all English curriculum and Sanskrit literature in regional languages and provide equal education/information to all? Don't people read PM's Mann kī Bāt in all regional languages on websites? Don't they teach the Bible in all Indian languages? Sanskrit scholars provide Vedic knowledge to westerners in English via translation and transliteration but not the same way to fellow Indians who protect languages and culture in Indic scripts.Gujarat has given great political leaders as well as simple script to the nation and yet Hindi is taught in a complex printing ink wasting script despite it’s simplification into Gujanāgari script.
If pundits were happy with the complex printing ink wasting Devanagari script they may not have created various scripts under different rulers for vernacular languages to divide the country. Nowadays Devanagari Lipi Parishad prefers a single Devanagari script despite it's simplification into Gujanāgarī script for all Indian languages to slowly eliminate vernacular scripts the way they did with Maharashtra's MODI script.
Westerners learn Sanskrit in English via translation and transliteration and challenge Indians but Indians are not allowed to learn Sanskrit the same way in vernacular languages. Why not make the same efforts in teaching mother language as you do for Sanskrit? How modern Sanskrit is going to be better than Vedic Sanskrit in providing knowledge? Does the government spend an equal amount of money on the promotion of all state languages.
https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/rs-643-84-cr-spent-on-promotion-of-sanskrit-in-3-years-govt-data/story-8LLLjyebUs8RbaL2J1LS9H.html India needs to create more jobs for Indic translators to provide equal education and information to all in Indic languages.
Also India has more English speakers than Great Britain and yet Indian English doesn't have itś own Indian English dictionary with pronunciation key to challenge IPA with highly phonetic Indic alphabets.http://sanskrit-ai.com/threads/mappings-for-devan%C4%81gar%C4%AB-indic-roman%C4%81gar%C4%AB.333/
Please request to add regional languages here along with Hindi and Urdu.

    All methods to be used.

  19. I will digress from what you have addressed in your blog. Pre 2014,rather post 2007 Gujarat elections. It had dawned on a few ordinary people, can't speak for political class since I have no connections with the class. We saw a possibility a very strong possibility in NaMo & the work began at a very slow pace. 2008 happened Mumbai terror attack. Then 2009 Gen elections where BJP seemed most disinterested in the elections. But a few were now beginning to get others to join hands. Personal resources were being used,no support was being sought from BJP or any other organisations. If some one offered it was accepted with great degree of gratitude. The focus was to bring about a change in govt at the centre. Politics within BJP was not our concern was building the support base. The ground swell had to be so strong & visible that BJP wud deal with it as fait accompli. That is precisely what happened. The time has come to repeat that performance this time the odds are higher. The opposition is fighting to stay alive. Violence can't be ruled out, we have to vigilant & not get sucked into the cycle of violence.
